CheQ’s success is measured by our valued clients that are mostly the big players in their respective industries, like software development, banking and finance, telecommunications, games and more.
Our Software Quality Engineers (SQEs) handle projects onsite or in our test laboratories, depending on the client’s requirements. We have deployed at least 2 to about 50 or more testers per client.
At any given time, we have SQEs in our head office working on internal projects as part of their training. They are available to be deployed to projects anytime they are needed by the client. In addition, we also have people in our hiring pool that can be hired either immediately or within 2-4 weeks’ time.
CheQ is committed to developing the employees’ testing skills by providing them adequate training thus encouraging them to have a long-term relationship with the company.
We have 3 categories of SQEs – Test Manager (TM), Test Lead (TL), and Test Engineer (TE), who are all capable of preparing test cases and executing tests. TM and TL drive the test team and are only differentiated by the size of the team handled. Test Managers handle larger teams than the Test Leads.
A test team can be a good mix of technical and non-technical testers, gamers and non-gamers, or with and without programming experience.
What are our testers’ advantages?
Our SQEs have a strong passion for quality testing, have software development background, are detail-oriented, and can deliver results on time.
All our SQEs have gone through the company’s stringent screening procedures. They are all college graduates who are fluent in the English language. Upon hiring, new SQEs undergo training on structured testing and best practices. They are constantly upgraded with more training programs (both technical and non-technical) as they stay longer with the company.
Our clients include software developers and other businesses that develop and maintain proprietary software and applications, spanning a range of industries from aviation to utilities.
We also have clients from the game development industry. We’ve done testing for online, console and mobile games. These include, but are not limited to, MMO, online casino, educational and iPhone games.
What are the testing services that we offer?
We ensure optimal quality of the client’s software application through our manual testing, automated testing, or a combination of the two. We are also customizing our methodologies to suit your specific needs, applying our deep domain knowledge in a variety of industries.
Functional Testing tests how well your software does what it’s supposed to do—tracking defects and comparing actual results against specifications and standards—as well as how compatible it is with various hardware and software.
Compatibility Testing tests how well your software functions across a range of user system configuration. This could include both hardware and software configurations depending on your requirements.
Performance Testing tests how well your software performs under normal, unusual, and abnormal circumstances, establishing the maximum load, traffic, data, and other parameters your system can handle.
Game Testing tests how well your game software performs, incorporating elements of functional, performance, and usability testing to identify glitches, as well as evaluate playability for Microsoft® Xbox, Sony Playstation™, Nintendo® and various PC, console, and handheld platforms.
Security Testing tests how well the system can protect vulnerable areas in where attackers can exploit the system in two levels - bugs at the implementation level and flaws at the design level.
Usability Testing tests how well your software lives up to user expectations, as well as how easily it can be understood, utilized, and enjoyed by target users, especially with similar or prior applications.
What test automation tools do we use?
Having been Mercury’s (now HP) authorized solutions partner in the Philippines, we have extensively continued to use tools in testing such as HP Functional (QuickTest Professional and WinRunner) and HP LoadRunner. However, our SQEs can also adapt to other automated testing tools in the market depending on the client’s requirements.
In our current testing projects, bugs are logged in our own bug tracking tool where they undergo review processes such as validation, replication, and accuracy, before they are reported to our clients. We can use and have used bug tracking tools and procedures like HP TestDirector for Quality Center, open source tools, and other client proprietary software.
How do we do our project reporting?
We employ project management procedures that allow us to report hours and progress on a daily, weekly, or bi-monthly basis. We constantly monitor our teams’ performance to facilitate process improvement and to provide additional metrics related to your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as necessary.
How do project teams communicate with clients?
Everyone has access to internet and email. Unauthorized access to any of our servers is filtered by our information security policies. We can use Instant Messaging (IM) in a controlled manner.
File transfers can be done via VPN. Internet connectivity requirements can be arranged. Should we experience connection lag during testing, we can easily increase bandwidth.
In addition, each project has dedicated phone extensions. Phone and video conferencing can be setup.
How do we handle security and confidentiality on information?
For our client’s business protection and to create a confidential relationship between CheQ and our client, both parties sign a Nondisclosure Agreement.
Information Security highlights:
- All testing projects are assigned aliases/code names to protect their identity within and outside our company premises.
- Each project is housed in a dedicated area secured by biometrics and segmented network (LAN and VPN).
- For highly sensitive projects, each SQE signs a project-specific Nondisclosure Agreement.
We can perform services for a Fixed Price or on a Time and Material basis.
Our rates vary depending on the requirements and scope of work. Ballpark figures are available upon discussing your requirements.
