Roel Hernandez, president and ceo
Named as one of the Philippine’s five noteworthy solutions integrators in the International Data Corporation Report, Roel has more than a decade's worth of experience in the fields of data communications, telecommunications, and IP network systems engineering. He also worked in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, with several prestigious industry names such as Gatesway, Cyberworld Technologies, Smart Communications, YCOM, Weblink, Philcom, and Webnet Online.
He was one of the pioneers of Internet proliferation in the Philippines, and has managed more than twelve ISP nodes across the country, including Gatesway Online (now Infocom Davao), which he built into Davao City's first-ranked Internet provider in under a year.
Roel co-founded CheQ Systems, Inc. in 2003 and continuously making milestones for the company since then. He is also a Director and a member of the advisory board of SeQure Technologies, a network security firm. Prior to CheQ Systems, Roel also served as President of Ecommsite Solutions, a software development firm.
Eden Hernandez, chief quality officer
Eden is a Mercury Certified Product Consultant and one of the primary training instructors of CheQ Systems. Her multinational exposure includes manual and automated testing projects for several software companies locally and in the US, mostly in the area of functional, performance, and game testing.
After barely 2 years in her career, she served as a Quality Assurance Director for a local software development firm. Thereafter, she led a staggering number of testing, training, and quality assurance efforts across the fields of IT, telcos, finance, commerce, human resources, manufacturing, aviation, shipping, and game design, to name just a few.
She put her testing prowess to work as a co-founder of CheQ Systems, where she manages not only testing projects, but also corporate functional teams, and research and development department.
Wilma Claire Sapalaran, business development manager
As the manager for Business Development, Wilma leads the team’s activities for CheQ Systems, Inc.’s valued clients. She has been in the Information Technology industry for almost 6 years, specializing in marketing, sales and account management, knowing the trends in IT, forecasting market demands, and establishing processes to enhance account relationships. Prior to CheQ, she worked at Ayala Systems Technology, Inc., a systems integrator, where her list of clientele ranged from government agencies to some of the countries largest and leading private corporations.
Wilma's expertise have always been closing deals with major corporations, here and abroad, and making sure these deals are followed through. This is backed by her degrees in Psychology and Marketing Management from the De La Salle University - Manila. She is one of the major players in representing CheQ Systems, Inc. to develop vital partnerships with the key players in the industry.
Aileen Alpajora, consulting manager
“Testers are the first and last line of defense in delivering quality services to clients.” This is the dictum of the 61 and still growing highly competent and skilled testers of CheQ Systems currently led by Ying who has involved herself in the testing league for more than 4 years.
Ying has already led a number of individuals into every testing endeavor. She has also stabilized testing processes and delivered high quality products to clients to ensure customer satisfaction. Apart from this, she has acquired formal trainings and extensive involvement in different most sophisticated testing technologies and methods.
Now, Ying continuously serve CheQ Systems in upbringing competent testers and delivering efficient and quality services, thus making the company a No. 1 testing services provider in the country.
Edwin Ebreo, hr manager
Ed has over 12 years experience in human resource management and training. Prior to CheQ, he held the position of HR Director at Athena E-Services, a BPO company. In the past, he occupied senior HR and training positions in PET Plans Group, SPI Technologies, Inc. and Philippine Seven Corp. (7-11 Food Stores). He has been an HR Consultant for a number of IT, BPO, and Cooperatives in the areas of recruitment, training, and retention.
Ed has conducted numerous training programs on teambuilding, leadership, performance management, problem solving and decision-making, trainer’s training, and labor management cooperation, among others, and has written a number of articles for MyTrabaho.Com.
He contributes in building a comprehensive HR strategy for CheQ Systems, aimed at attracting and retaining talents, and building service, management and leadership competencies for CheQ employees.
Marilou Chan, training services manager
Malou has more than 5 years of experience in finance and administrative fields. She started her career as a Finance and Administrative Officer for a company that provides software development, systems engineering services, and real-time data for various stock exchanges across Asia.
She has been with CheQ Systems for more than 2 years and has conducted numerous trainings for the company. She plays a vital role in planning, managing, organizing and marketing CheQ’s training services. Commitment and dedication to CheQ made her department one of the major revenue generators of the company.
Benedicto Cruz, finance manager
Benedict is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He brings with him over 8 years of experience in managing the financial aspects of business operations and client relations.
Benedict has had significant experiences in business finance consulting for huge corporations and several start-up companies. He has constantly been CheQ's financial advisor prior to holding the position of Finance Manager, and also partly owns an accounting firm himself.
Rommie Patricio, research and development manager
Rommie is an IT practitioner equipped with 7 years of experience in different industry projects related to banking, finance, trade, communications, consulting, software development, and web applications. He served as a Senior Software Engineer in one of the leading companies that offers a variety of services from application development and management to business process outsourcing where he gained extensive training in all areas of testing and defect tracking.
Being in service for CheQ in 4 years, Rommie is shortly recognized on his skills and knowledge in pushing the company’s newly established department to new heights. Started in CheQ as a contractual Software Quality Engineer, he then became part of the Research and Development (R&D) department handling software testing proofs of concepts (POCs) and after sales support. As R&D manager, Rommie also discovers new testing tools, services, and technologies needed by the company in order to serve its customers better.
Edison Ong, IT manager
Edong is competitively trained with more than 7 years of experience in Windows, Linux and Network Administration. He started his career as Technical Support Engineer in Ecommsite Solutions, a company offering consulting services and turnkey IT solutions for service organizations for collaborative business management, customer relationship management, and process improvement. Edong handled several projects from multinational companies that require secure networking solutions from Manila to various regional locations in the Philippines. He has also been involved on the design and implementation of numerous IT security design proposals as well as network infrastructure development, testing, and optimization that are in line with industry standards.
While setting up an IT Security Company with former colleagues, Edong began his career with CheQ in 2005 as a Systems Administration Consultant where he replaced CheQ’s entire old infrastructure with reliable and robust servers using the Linux Operating System. He is also behind the wide array of IT infrastructure CheQ is currently using. As the IT manager, he is responsible for the implementation, maintenance of IT security and stability of the whole IT infrastructure of the company and now takes on key roles in reaching the company's goals and vision.
