As part of its commitment to realize its vision of becoming a global testing services provider, CheQ started expanding its test laboratories.
Just recently, we started upgrading our compatibility testing capability by acquiring more hardware to support both backward and forward compatibility requirements of our clients. Towards the end of the year, another lab is set to open and this will be designed for unit testing to accommodate code-level quality checkpoints, which are being requested by some of our clients.
Let's CheQ an X! (X-platform or cross-platform testing)
CheQ offers a solution to the growing need to test new and emerging applications that can run on multiple platforms and hardware including mobiles and handhelds. New software applications and games are being designed to run on multiple platforms. For example, a Java application can be designed to run across multiple platforms such as Windows, Mac, and Unix. Testing them across multiple OS and hardware can be very tedious, time consuming, and costly especially if one doesn't have all necessary hardware in the arsenal. A multi-media application on the other hand should also run a compatibility test across different video cards and video resolutions. And if it needs to run on a browser, we all know that there are many popular browsers that are being used today. If you count versions, service packs, patches, plug-ins, and updates, you can easily conjure a list with hundreds - or thousands - of unique configurations.
Our newly updated compatibility test lab is designed for ease of access to multiple environments and configuration. Acquiring our services easily gives our clients an access to more than 10,000 configurations, which include a combination of any of our more than 20 variants of processors, OS and upgrade packs, wide range of memory size/type/speed, old versions and up to the latest motherboards, video cards, and other peripherals as needed. By acquiring this service, you can avoid the hassle of acquiring and setting up hundreds to thousands of environments. At the same time, our lab is controlled and maintained to ensure that we can manage and replicate each configuration using several test environment management tools. Soon, we will also upgrade our Mac/Apple capability by adding more variants and configurations of these platforms.
Let's CheQ those lines!
Soon, your thousands of lines of codes can also pass thru our CheQpoints. We are now upgrading our capability to support different coding standards to help address the needs of our clients and partners. Acquisition of different unit testing tools is also in the works. Another lab is also being planned and may soon operate before the end of 2009. Initially, we intend to support testing of C, Java, and SOAP, and the aviation software development guideline DO-178B.
Gearing up towards Y2K-X!
Y2k-X or year 2010 looks like another promising year for CheQ and our clients, as we continuously expand our services and enhance our capabilities. Additional labs, new tools, and more technology partners will be introduced as we move forward.
