MMOG project expands
April 15, 2009

From a headcount of 6 when the MMOG project kicked off in December 2007 to a whopping team of 22 as of March 2009, the Texas-based client and CheQ Systems indeed have a lot of good things going on.

The client’s representatives, QA Manager and Outsourcing Lead, announced during their visit last December to CheQ’s Chief Quality Officer, Eden Hernandez, and yours truly that they are definitely growing the CheQ Testing Team this year. Although there were challenges faced at some point during the first year, they are very pleased that CheQ has conquered them and continued to get better over time. There’s still much room for improvement but the team’s sheer talent, pursuit of quality, determination and will to improve and succeed are CheQ’s advantages over the other testing providers.

As part of the expansion, potential game testers are being screened and qualified by CheQ’s HR Department, managed by Chris Siena, and Aileen “Ying” Alpajora, Consulting Services Manager. The candidates are then endorsed by Ying to Eden and the latter will ask the approval of the client’s Outsourcing Lead. Upon approval, the Testers will roll in to the project on specified dates. Passing the 2-week training and the evaluation by Ying and the Team Leads, Sherwin Soriano and Mylene Lao, is the last stage before a tester finally gets into the team. This will continue to be the process of deployment until the client says that the maximum number of team members is achieved.

On the Administrative and IT sides, led by Benedict Cruz and Edison Ong, respectively, Test Labs A, B, and C are being set up to accommodate the whole testing team. Aside from the acquisition of additional computers, a significant increase in bandwidth was also fulfilled. Setting an extra air conditioning unit in one of the test labs is in the works, too.

With the combined efforts from different departments of CheQ Systems, and by working together, we can look forward to the game testing project getting bigger in the coming months.
